Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas is a result of the passion to display the individuality and character of the Douro by the creators of this project, João Silva e Sousa, Francisco Baptista and Manuel Dias.
The story of Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas began only one year ago, vinifying their wines in the Upper Douro in temporary facilities. The grapes are selected from parcels of land, working with small producers who do not have the capacity to vinify on their own, but offer the individuality of the land that Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas looks for in all their wines.
The first wines were launched in 2011 with unmatched quality and great critical acclaim both nationally and internationally. The winemakers, João Silva e Sousa and Francisco Baptista, pay tribute to this quality, intensity, elegance and success both to the region and to the Douro River by creating the wines "Lua Cheia", "Andreza" and "Colleja".
